I joined the selective Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP), a paid internship at the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic joint base in North Charleston, South Carolina. After being granted security clearance, I collaborated with engineers and software developers on cutting edge projects, including the development of a machine learning object classification model and web development software. Working with superiors and other interns on-base provided experience and insight into the process of real-world technological innovation, specifically in the military engineering industry.
