About Me

I'm Spence Cox from Charleston, South Carolina. I'm currently a student at Duke University pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering with a minor in machine learning and artificial intelligence.

With my work, I aim to develop innovative solutions to pressing energy and climate issues with mechanical engineering and data science approaches.

I've completed several selective internships at Clemson's Energy Innovation Center, Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic, NASA, and the Joint Science and Technology Institute.

At Duke, I've joined the iMIND Laboratory in developing health-focused convolutional neural networks, and I am the leader of the Vehicle Dynamics team of the Duke Electric Vehicles club. With the Dalton Laboratory, I've contributed to a image super-resolution and material science research.
